Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over the live-streamed ceremonial launch of the Kalaignar All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme from the Secretariat in Chennai. Connecting virtually with district collectors, farmers' producer groups, and panchayat representatives across the state, Stalin formally inaugurated the flagship rural development program. The broadcast covered the distribution of agricultural equipment, subsidized farm machinery, and fruit sapling kits to beneficiary farmers participating from multiple rural centers.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister explained that the scheme covers over two thousand village panchayats in its first operational phase, with an ultimate target of transforming every rural village over a five-year cycle. Stalin emphasized that integrating water harvesting, desilting of village ponds, and soil rejuvenation under a single administrative umbrella will make village agriculture commercially viable and climate-resilient. He highlighted that community participation remains the primary engine driving the scheme's execution.
Stalin directed district officials to ensure transparent beneficiary selection and timely delivery of agricultural inputs without administrative bottlenecks. He affirmed that revitalizing rural farming ecosystems underpins his government's overarching commitment to social equity and balanced regional growth.
