Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally launched the ambitious Kalaignar All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme, establishing a transformative framework to achieve rural self-sufficiency and enhance farm incomes across the state. Stalin recalled that increasing agricultural yields and ensuring farmer prosperity constituted one of the seven visionary governance goals he announced for Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that genuine economic transformation begins at the village panchayat level by converting fallow lands into productive agricultural plots.

Named in honor of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, the integrated scheme converges the resources of multiple state departments, including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, revenue, and rural development. The program targets the systematic development of thousands of village panchayats annually through soil testing, micro-irrigation subsidies, solar-powered pump installations, and free distribution of high-yield saplings and seeds. Stalin pointed out that integrating modern agronomic techniques with local resource planning will insulate smallholder farmers from climate volatility.

Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian model of administration places agricultural revitalization at the heart of rural progress. He reiterated that empowering farming families with integrated infrastructural support will secure food sovereignty and sustainable prosperity across Tamil Nadu.
