Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin released photographs capturing his warm personal interactions with regional farming delegations gathered at the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur. Cultivators from across the Cauvery Delta region converged at the reservoir site to express heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for releasing irrigation water in May, an event unprecedented in post-independence history. In the photographs, farming leaders draped traditional shawls and offered agricultural produce as tokens of appreciation.
During discussions with the farmers, Stalin listened to their planting timelines and seasonal input requirements for the upcoming Kuruvai paddy cycle. The Chief Minister assured the farming community that the state agricultural department has arranged adequate stocks of certified paddy seeds, subsidized fertilizers, and micro-nutrients across primary agricultural cooperative credit societies. He noted that advancing the water release date allows farmers to harvest their Kuruvai crop well before northeast monsoon rains, preventing harvest losses.
Stalin affirmed that the genuine joy reflected in the farmers' faces represents the greatest reward for his administration. He emphasized that the Dravidian Model governance remains steadfastly dedicated to farmer welfare, agricultural sustainability, and rural economic upliftment.
