Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin addressed party cadres through an emotional letter celebrating the state government's installation of a bronze statue of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi in Chennai. Describing the ceremonial occasion as a joyous festival of gratitude, Stalin proclaimed Karunanidhi as the Father of Modern Tamil Nadu, whose visionary governance modernised state infrastructure, empowered underprivileged sections, and championed federal democracy over several transformative decades.
The Chief Minister noted that the Dravidian Model of governance conceived by Karunanidhi now provides a progressive development roadmap for all Indian states. Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's economic stature, balanced industrialization, and high social development indices stem directly from policy foundations laid during Karunanidhi's tenures. He emphasized that the monument on arterial Mount Road stands not merely as an artistic sculpture, but as a permanent beacon reminding citizens of principles like self-respect, social justice, and linguistic pride.
Stalin urged party cadres to march forward unitedly along the path charted by Karunanidhi. He reaffirmed his government's pledge to translate visionary Dravidian ideals into tangible public welfare programs that uplift every segment of Tamil society.
