Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a keynote address during the ceremonial investiture ceremony honoring police officers who received the President's Police Medal, the Union Home Minister's Medal, and the Chief Minister's Police Medal. Speaking at the ceremony held at Rajarathinam Stadium in Chennai, Stalin congratulated the awardees for their distinguished service, investigative excellence, and exceptional gallantry in the line of duty.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the primary measure of an effective police force is its ability to prevent crimes, protect vulnerable populations, and earn public trust through courteous, timely service. Stalin stressed that police stations must be welcoming spaces where citizens, particularly women, children, and underprivileged groups, can lodge grievances without hesitation. He reviewed state initiatives aimed at reducing occupational stress among police personnel, including structured weekly off days and modernized technological tools for criminal investigation.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's reputation as a peaceful state attracts international industrial investment and fosters continuous social stability. He urged the police force to remain vigilant, embrace transparent policing practices, and uphold constitutional rights while maintaining public safety across all districts.
