Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted a field inspection of irrigation infrastructure and desilting works at Anandamangalam in Mayiladuthurai district. The visit formed part of an ongoing statewide drive to assess canal readiness across the Cauvery Delta region following the early release of water from Mettur Dam. Stalin surveyed local water channels and received comprehensive operational briefings from Water Resources Department engineers and district revenue authorities.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister examined canal profiles and verified that heavy silt, weed overgrowth, and accumulated debris had been cleared thoroughly from the channel bed. Stalin directed field staff to ensure that water conveyance toward peripheral agricultural lands remains unobstructed throughout the cultivation season. He also gathered valuable feedback from local farmers regarding seasonal crop preparation, tractor availability, and subsidized fertilizer distribution.
Stalin reiterated that his administration prioritizes timely, well-managed water resources to empower hardworking farming communities. He affirmed that continuous on-site monitoring by senior officials ensures high quality in public works, fostering agricultural productivity and economic security for rural households in Mayiladuthurai district and throughout the wider agricultural delta territory.
