Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed journalists at a comprehensive press conference concluding his two-day inspection tour of irrigation infrastructure across the Cauvery Delta districts. Meeting reporters in Nagapattinam, Stalin presented detailed data on desilting operations executed by the Water Resources Department ahead of the Kuruvai crop season. He reiterated that systematic maintenance of canals, distributaries, and drainage channels remained the primary operational objective of his administration.
The Chief Minister answered questions regarding irrigation water flow, agricultural input distribution, and administrative coordination between government departments. Stalin noted that district monitoring officers and senior engineers were stationed on the ground to track water movement and resolve local blockages immediately. He affirmed that grievance redressal mechanisms had been activated in every taluk to assist farming families throughout the sowing phase.
Emphasizing transparent governance, Stalin invited media representatives to scrutinize public works independently and provide constructive feedback. He underscored that timely water reaching the tail-end areas of the Cauvery network serves as the true benchmark of successful project execution, assuring delta farmers that the administration will protect their agricultural productivity and welfare.
