Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the state conference of urban local body representatives held in Namakkal, broadcast live to civic administrators and the general public. Convening thousands of municipal mayors, corporation commissioners, municipality chairpersons, and ward members, Stalin delivered an extensive keynote address establishing administrative benchmarks for town and city governance across Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the efficacy of the state administration depends directly on how responsibly urban local bodies resolve everyday citizen grievances.
During the conference, the Chief Minister reviewed ongoing urban development works, including road re-laying projects, solid waste processing plants, underground sewerage networks, and public health facilities. Stalin directed municipal heads to eliminate bureaucratic delays in issuing building permits, trade licenses, and utility connections. He instructed local leaders to maintain open grievance redressal channels and conduct ward-level public consultation meetings regularly to understand community needs.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's high rate of urbanization demands forward-looking urban planning and climate-resilient infrastructure. He pledged comprehensive state financial allocations for modernizing civic machinery and adopting digital administration tools. The Chief Minister urged all elected representatives to uphold integrity, ensuring transparent and people-centric governance across all urban jurisdictions.
