Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called upon urban local body representatives to implement Dravidian model governance at the grassroots, building avenues of social equality and bridges of brotherhood across municipal communities. Speaking to mayors, municipal chairpersons, and town panchayat leaders, Stalin emphasized that civic administration must actively dismantle caste discrimination and economic inequities. He urged elected municipal officials to ensure that urban developmental projects serve all residential wards equitably, without prejudice or administrative favoritism.
The Chief Minister emphasized that urban local bodies manage the civic services that most directly impact citizens' daily lives, including piped drinking water, sanitation systems, street lighting, and road networks. Stalin instructed municipal functionaries to prioritize public health, maintain clean neighborhoods, and eradicate manual scavenging through modernized mechanized equipment. He noted that good governance in local bodies forms the bedrock of state-level progress, creating inclusive urban environments where all citizens enjoy dignity and basic public amenities.
Stalin affirmed that his government is providing substantial municipal funding to modernize civic infrastructure and expand green public spaces across towns and cities. He urged municipal representatives to work with honesty, responsiveness, and exemplary public dedication, translating progressive state policies into neighborhood-level improvements.
