Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended congratulations to the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission and the state MSME department on being recognized as a Leader in the States Startup Ranking 2021. Stalin also applauded senior civil servants S. Nagarajan and R.V. Shajeevana for receiving recognition as Startup Champions of the State. He stated that this prestigious national recognition reflects dedicated administrative leadership and proactive public policy in revitalizing Tamil Nadu's innovation landscape.
The States Startup Ranking, evaluated annually by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Union Ministry of Commerce, benchmarks states on fostering entrepreneurship. Tamil Nadu achieved a major leap in performance following comprehensive reforms, including streamlining regulatory approvals, establishing public incubation facilities, and launching the StartupTN seed fund. Stalin pointed out that these measures systematically addressed early-stage financing deficits, enabling homegrown tech enterprises and grassroots manufacturing ventures to scale sustainably.
The Chief Minister commended departmental officers and industry stakeholders for executing policy interventions with speed and technical rigor. Stalin reaffirmed his government's commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises alongside advanced technology startups, driving inclusive employment generation across Tamil Nadu.
