Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched a comprehensive statewide mission to eradicate illegal narcotics and synthetic drugs, calling for coordinated police action and broad civic mobilization to protect youth from substance abuse. Outlining his administration's dual-track enforcement strategy, Stalin stated that while the state police department will enforce the full rigor of statutory law against drug traffickers, civil society must actively lead grassroots awareness campaigns.
Under the campaign slogan Not for Me, Not for Us, the Chief Minister appealed to students, parents, educators, and social organizations to unite in breaking the destructive chain of narcotics addiction. He directed law enforcement authorities to dismantle interstate supply networks, freeze assets of commercial drug cartels, and eliminate peddling near schools and colleges through rigorous surveillance and specialized anti-narcotics units.
Stalin stressed that protecting the physical and mental health of younger generations is vital for safeguarding Tamil Nadu's socioeconomic future. He called upon every citizen to participate vigilantly in building a drug-free society, pledging that his government will pursue zero-tolerance enforcement against drug offenders while providing compassionate de-addiction and counseling support to vulnerable youth.
