Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin strongly countered conservative political discourses that deprecatingly label public welfare schemes as freebies, asserting that state assistance provided to students, women, and marginalized families constitutes indispensable social investment. Speaking during a constituency inspection in Kolathur where he inaugurated local civic amenities and distributed educational assistances, Stalin expressed profound emotional gratitude for the affectionate reception showered by local residents.
The Chief Minister explained that welfare measures such as free bus travel for women, free nutritious breakfast for primary schoolchildren, and monthly higher education stipends are not electoral charity. Instead, they are scientifically structured social equalizers designed to eradicate generational poverty, elevate female labor force participation, eliminate childhood malnutrition, and enable underprivileged youth to secure high-paying employment in modern industrial sectors.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model of administration views state expenditure through the lens of human capital development rather than narrow commercial accounting. He asserted that an enlightened, egalitarian government has a constitutional duty to uplift disadvantaged communities, declaring that his administration will continue expanding targeted social welfare programs to ensure comprehensive human dignity and inclusive prosperity across Tamil Nadu.
