Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm felicitations on the three hundred eighty-third birthday of Chennai, celebrating the coastal metropolis as a premier role model for Dravidian model urban development and progressive statecraft. Stalin emphasized that while British colonial administrators founded the historic settlement of Madras, it was former Chief Minister Muthamizharignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi who formally renamed the capital city Chennai in 1996, enshrining indigenous linguistic identity.

The Chief Minister highlighted that successive DMK administrations systematically transformed the city from a colonial port town into a dynamic hub of modern manufacturing, premier healthcare, and information technology. Landmarks such as the Tidel Park, Gemini flyover, Koyambedu bus terminus, and the Anna Centenary Library stand as lasting monuments to Kalaignar's farsighted urban planning and inclusive developmental philosophy.

Stalin affirmed that Chennai remains the political and intellectual epicenter of social reform and federal rights advocacy in India. He pledged that his government will continuously enhance municipal public amenities, expand green public spaces, and fortify coastal defenses, ensuring that the historic city retains its compassionate soul while accelerating into a sustainable future.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
