Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a directive calling upon all two hundred thirty-four Members of the Legislative Assembly across Tamil Nadu to recommend ten long-pending, critical development demands from their respective constituencies. Stalin instructed the legislators to prioritize these local requests based on public urgency and submit the finalized lists to their respective District Collectors within the next fifteen days for structured administrative evaluation.
The initiative is part of the expanded Ungal Thoguthiyil Mudhalamaicher scheme, which seeks to identify and resolve chronic grassroots civic bottlenecks that have remained unaddressed across successive budget cycles. By directly involving elected representatives from every political party, the state administration aims to bridge local governance gaps, funding essential infrastructure such as primary healthcare centers, school upgrades, rural link roads, and drinking water facilities.
Stalin affirmed that democracy flourishes when elected representatives actively participate in developmental governance irrespective of partisan differences. He assured legislators that District Collectors and departmental heads will scrutinize the submitted proposals promptly, formulating actionable project reports and allocating dedicated state funds to execute these these essential civic and infrastructural public works efficiently.
