Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reaffirmed his government's dedicated support for micro, small, and medium enterprises, stressing that sustainable industrial development requires nurturing small-scale manufacturing units alongside large multinational corporations. Highlighting concrete financial interventions, Stalin announced that through the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited, his administration has sanctioned two thousand one hundred thirteen crore rupees in institutional credit to two thousand ninety-two enterprises.
The Chief Minister focused particularly on the vital role played by Tiruppur's dynamic textile cluster, describing the knitwear sector as the driving economic backbone of western Tamil Nadu that generates millions of direct and indirect livelihoods. Recognizing the severe challenges posed by volatile cotton yarn prices and international trade disruptions, Stalin assured entrepreneurs that the state government will extend targeted assistance, power tariff relief, and infrastructure support to protect local manufacturing competitiveness.
Stalin affirmed that MSMEs represent the primary engine of decentralized employment generation and regional wealth creation. His administration remains determined to simplify regulatory approvals, facilitate modern technology adoption, and provide timely working capital credit, ensuring that Tiruppur continues to thrive as India's premier textile export hub.
