Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin unveiled a grand bronze statue of former Chief Minister Muthamizharignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi in Erode, celebrating his six decades of transformative legislative and social contributions. Addressing political leaders, scholars, and local citizens, Stalin highlighted that establishing statues and memorials across Tamil Nadu permanently records Kalaignar's monumental achievements and progressive governance for future generations.

Describing Karunanidhi as the devoted ideological disciple of Thanthai Periyar and elder brotherly comrade to Perarignar Anna, Stalin expressed profound emotional joy at unveiling the statue in Erode, the birthplace and fertile cradle of the rationalist self-respect movement. He noted that Erode holds immense historical significance in modern Tamil political history as the center from which anti-caste reforms, women's liberation ideals, and rationalist consciousness spread across the state.

Stalin affirmed that his administration remains guided daily by Kalaignar's administrative principles of secularism, social equity, and economic advancement for working-class citizens.
