Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin paid an emotional tribute to late former Chief Minister Muthamizharignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, marking the completion of four full years in the party presidency and stepping into his fifth year of leadership. Addressing Kalaignar as an unparalleled mentor, senior-most among Chief Ministers, and monarch of Tamil arts and letters, Stalin expressed profound reverence for his legacy.
Karunanidhi steered the DMK for fifty consecutive years, transforming it into a formidable political and social movement dedicated to Dravidian ideology, state rights, and subaltern empowerment. Taking over the presidency in August 2018 following Kalaignar's demise, Stalin has consolidated the party organization, maintained cadre unity, and guided the DMK to decisive electoral triumphs across parliamentary, assembly, and civic polls.
Stalin noted that assuming the high responsibility once held by Kalaignar requires constant vigilance, hard work, and loyalty to the party's founding principles.
