I thank the Kerala Government for hosting the event in a vibrant manner.
Tamil Nadu has now placed the request to host the next Southern Zonal Council Meet and I hope we will get that opportunity. (2/2)
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin concluded his official participation in the thirtieth Southern Zonal Council meeting in Kovalam by conveying his gratitude to the Government of Kerala for organizing the inter-state conference effectively. Highlighting the cooperative spirit evident throughout the deliberations, Stalin commended Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and state officials for hosting delegates from neighboring southern administrations with warm hospitality and seamless administrative coordination.
During the summit proceedings, Stalin formally submitted Tamil Nadu's official request to host the upcoming thirty-first Southern Zonal Council meeting, expressing confidence that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs will grant the state this organizational opportunity. Hosting the next regional summit will allow Tamil Nadu to facilitate crucial dialogues on shared river waters, energy distribution, transport networks, and coastal security among southern partner states.
Stalin affirmed that continuous regional dialogue strengthens inter-state bonds and reinforces constitutional federal principles. He stressed that periodic consultations enable southern states to coordinate cohesive developmental strategies, resolve cross-border administrative matters amicably, and present joint regional priorities before Union authorities, thereby advancing balanced economic growth and federal equity across peninsular India.
