Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally inaugurated the Puthumai Penn financial assistance scheme alongside twenty-six Schools of Excellence and fifteen Model Schools across the state during a ceremonial event held in Chennai. Joining him on the dais was Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who attended the launch as a special guest to witness the comprehensive rollout of Tamil Nadu's upgraded school infrastructure and student support mechanisms.

Stalin described the launch as a transformative step toward revamping classroom learning spaces and heralding lasting educational advancement across government institutions. Under the Puthumai Penn program, female students who completed their schooling in state-run schools receive monthly financial aid of one thousand rupees to pursue undergraduate studies without fiscal strain. The accompanying modern schools feature digital learning tools, smart classrooms, and advanced science laboratories designed to rival premier private institutions across the country.

Expressing gratitude to Kejriwal for participating in the inaugural ceremony, Stalin noted that mutual cooperation between progressive state governments accelerates public welfare delivery.
