Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially inaugurated a major multi-storey residential tenement complex executed under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board in Chennai. Speaking before urban planning administrators, engineers, and local residents, Stalin reiterated that providing safe, disaster-resilient, and dignified housing for vulnerable slum dwellers is a central mission of his administration.
The Chief Minister highlighted that urban redevelopment projects under the Dravidian Model governance are carefully planned with holistic infrastructure, ensuring accessible healthcare centers, primary schools, fair price shops, and clean public parks within residential zones. Stalin pointed out that transitioning families from precarious settlements along waterways and roadsides into secure permanent apartments insulates them from seasonal flooding and disease outbreaks. The government has prioritized transparent allotment processes, issuing joint ownership titles in the names of women family heads.
Stalin affirmed that housing policy under his leadership is designed to eradicate urban inequality and foster inclusive civic progress. His active personal monitoring of housing construction projects demonstrates a steadfast commitment to elevating the quality of life, dignity, and housing security for Chennai's working-class citizens.
