DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over the grand DMK Mupperum Vizha 2022 celebrations in Virudhunagar, presenting prestigious annual awards to veteran party leaders for their lifelong dedication and selfless service. The annual celebration marks the confluence of Thanthai Periyar's birth anniversary, Perarignar Anna's birth anniversary, and the founding of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in September 1949.

Stalin presented the coveted Periyar, Anna, Kalaignar, Pavendhar, and Perasiriyar awards to distinguished party veterans and social justice crusaders, praising their steadfast ideological discipline through decades of political struggle. He emphasized that the DMK's institutional resilience stems from its foundational roots in grassroots social activism and rationalist public discourse. The conference showcased remarkable unity, drawing lakhs of enthusiastic volunteers, cadres, and district functionaries who pledged renewed commitment to the movement.

The Chief Minister asserted that the party's ideological foundation remains indestructible despite concerted political attacks. He resolved that the DMK will spearhead national political resistance against authoritarian centralization, championing state autonomy, grassroots secularism, educational equality, economic equity, and social justice across peninsular India with unwavering democratic determination and collective courage.
