Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the grand Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Church of South India (CSI) in Chennai, commending the Christian community's monumental and historical contributions to societal development across southern India. Stalin underscored that Christian missionary institutions played a foundational role in democratizing school education, establishing modern healthcare facilities, and opening doors of literacy to oppressed and marginalized communities regardless of caste or creed.
The Chief Minister noted that the Church of South India's seventy-five-year journey embodies the noble virtues of compassionate service, social reform, and human dignity. He highlighted that Tamil Nadu's exceptional literacy rates, social development indices, and robust healthcare network were built upon early institutions founded by Christian missions in rural and tribal regions. The Dravidian movement and Christian service institutions share a harmonious ideological alignment in prioritizing the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden.
Stalin assured the Christian minority community that the secular DMK administration will stand as a protective shield guarding their minority rights, educational institutions, and freedom of faith. He reaffirmed that Tamil Nadu will eternally remain a fortress of secularism, interfaith solidarity, and mutual communal respect.
