Amid excessive centralisation of powers by Union BJP Govt, the demand for a review & reappraisal of our constitution in order to make it truly federal becomes more important.
Our lofty goals can be achieved only if the progressive forces stand united & become an All India Force. https://t.co/fWLjQvW39y

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called for an urgent review and reappraisal of the Indian Constitution to transform the country into a truly federal republic, warning against the excessive concentration of administrative, legislative, and fiscal powers by the Union BJP government. Delivering a keynote address at a political conclave in Thiruvananthapuram, Stalin emphasized that systemic central encroachment on state jurisdictions threatens the foundational structure of Indian democracy.
Stalin pointed out that vital subjects like education, taxation, healthcare, and police administration have experienced unilateral central interference, undermining the constitutional autonomy of elected state governments. He reiterated that states are the frontline responders to citizens' everyday needs, yet their fiscal rights are constrained through GST imbalances and withheld revenue compensation. He maintained that regional aspirations and linguistic identities can only be preserved when power is devolved genuinely from the Centre to the states.
The Chief Minister urged progressive, secular, and democratic forces across India to set aside minor electoral differences and forge a formidable All-India alliance. Stalin declared that united democratic resistance is the only viable path to protect constitutional federalism and national unity.
