I appeal to the Hon. @PMOIndia to take stock of the reasonable fear & discontent among the non-hindi speaking states following the aggressive attempts of the Union Govt to impose Hindi by all possible avenues. These are against the federal principles of our constitution. 1/2 https://t.co/bhG5KSwke4

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take cognizant note of the growing apprehension and widespread resentment brewing across non-Hindi speaking states over aggressive moves by the Union Government to enforce Hindi. Stalin emphasized that systematic efforts to push Hindi as the sole medium of instruction in premier technical institutes and government examinations directly contradict the federal foundations of the Indian Constitution.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the recommendations submitted by the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have provoked profound anxiety among students, educators, and youth across southern and eastern states. Stalin underscored that imposing language prerequisites for central jobs and education places non-Hindi speakers at a severe institutional disadvantage, effectively turning them into disenfranchised participants in national development.
Urging Prime Minister Modi to intervene decisively, Stalin reiterated that India's strength lies in its multilingual mosaic and federal accommodation. He stressed that prioritizing Hindi over centuries-old classical languages like Tamil undermines mutual trust between the Centre and states, urging the central leadership to honor linguistic equality and constitutional commitments.
