Language is the lifeline of Tamils. We will never accept the hegemony of Hindi to rule over us.
Opposing the report of Parliamentary Committee on Official language, the TNLA has unanimously passed a historic resolution.
Once again, TN takes the lead to #StopHindiImposition. https://t.co/b63Ql0IYfp

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin moved a historic and unanimous resolution in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly rejecting the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language that sought to mandate Hindi as the medium of instruction in central educational institutions. Asserting that language is the vital lifeline of the Tamil people, Stalin declared that Tamil Nadu will never acquiesce to linguistic hegemony or administrative dominance that undermines constitutional federalism.
The resolution urged the Union Government not to implement the committee's divisive recommendations, warning that forcing Hindi in central universities, engineering institutions, and recruitment exams unfairly relegates non-Hindi speaking citizens to second-class status. Stalin recalled Tamil Nadu's proud legacy of leading the anti-Hindi imposition struggles since 1938 and 1965, pointing out that regional linguistic diversity constitutes India's greatest cultural strength.
Stalin called upon the Union Government to treat all twenty-two languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution as official languages of the Union. He emphasized that true national unity can only flourish through mutual linguistic respect, cooperative federalism, and equal institutional recognition for all Indian mother tongues.
