We, who strive for social justice have gathered today! Let's win this struggle against the social injustice called EWS! https://t.co/ETVovf9MWi

Addressing an all-party meeting convened at the Secretariat in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched a trenchant critique against the 10 percent Economically Weaker Sections reservation, characterizing it as a fatal constitutional assault on social justice. Stalin argued that equating centuries of systemic caste oppression and educational disenfranchisement with fluctuating economic backwardness fundamentally violates the core spirit and founding purpose of affirmative action enshrined in the Constitution.
The Chief Minister highlighted that reservations were conceived by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Dravidian visionaries specifically as a remedial tool for social representation and caste emancipation, not as a poverty alleviation scheme. By excluding backward classes, Dalits, and Adivasis from its purview, the EWS quota effectively institutionalizes upper-caste privilege under an economic facade. Stalin resolved that Tamil Nadu would challenge the policy legally and politically, building a nationwide coalition of progressive states and parties.
Stalin exhorted all political movements dedicated to equality to unite against this retrograde measure. Reaffirming Tamil Nadu's historic vanguard role in defending affirmative action, he declared that the struggle against EWS will be pursued relentlessly across judicial, legislative, and public platforms nationally.
