Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin undertook an extensive on-site inspection of flood-affected regions across Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai districts, reviewing damage caused by severe torrential downpours during the Northeast Monsoon. Traveling through inundated rural habitations and submerged agricultural fields, Stalin interacted directly with affected farmers, rural residents, and local shopkeepers, assuring them of immediate governmental relief, crop damage enumeration, and restoration of essential civil utilities.
The Chief Minister convened high-level review meetings with district collectors, revenue authorities, and emergency response teams, instructing them to deploy heavy dewatering machinery and expedite the draining of stagnant floodwaters from residential settlements and farmlands. He ordered uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water, distribution of food packets and dry rations, and continuous deployment of mobile medical camps to prevent waterborne disease outbreaks in relief centers across the delta districts.
Stalin commended grassroots revenue, police, and disaster management personnel for their tireless round-the-clock rescue operations. Emphasizing proactive, hands-on governance, he affirmed that state ministers, senior monitoring officers, and emergency rescue personnel will remain stationed in vulnerable coastal areas until complete normalcy is fully restored to daily life.
