Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the centenary culmination celebrations of the Employers' Federation of Southern India in Chennai, observing that the historic milestone coincided meaningfully with the memorial day of freedom fighter and trade union pioneer V.O. Chidambaranar. Recalling VOC's legendary role in organizing early labor strikes, opposing colonial exploitation, and championing indigenous enterprise, Stalin stressed that industrial progress flourishes best when management and workforce function as respectful, cooperative partners.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Tamil Nadu's emergence as an industrial powerhouse is anchored in maintaining progressive labor standards, industrial peace, and fair dispute resolution mechanisms. He urged corporate employers and business federations to regard workers' welfare, workplace safety, and living wages not as overhead costs, but as foundational investments in sustainable organizational productivity and long-term economic resilience.
Stalin reaffirmed his government's dedication to creating a business-friendly ecosystem while upholding labor rights with equal vigor. By fostering constructive dialogue between organized labor unions and progressive industrial leadership, the state ensures equitable industrial peace, successfully attracting premier global manufacturing investments and generating dignified, secure employment across all key sectors of the economy.
