Celebrating the historic foundation of the Justice Party as the birth of India's political voice for social justice, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called for renewed commitment to safeguarding affirmative action for backward and oppressed communities. Stalin observed that November 20 marks the sacred anniversary when the first decisive institutional step was taken to ensure that caste-based deprivation in education and public employment was dismantled through statutory reservations.
Reccounting the arduous century-long journey of the Dravidian movement, Stalin noted that equitable representation was not granted as an act of charity, but wrested through persistent intellectual warfare and mass agitation against entrenched caste monopolies. The historic Communal Government Order enacted by the Justice Party ministry laid the bedrock for all modern affirmative action frameworks across independent India, opening university portals and civil service appointments to historically oppressed majorities.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK government remains the resolute vanguard protecting reservations against insidious centralizing attempts to dilute caste-based affirmative action. On this milestone day, he urged progressive forces nationwide to unite and protect social justice as an uncompromising constitutional and moral imperative.
