Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited his home constituency of Kolathur in Chennai, inaugurating completed civic amenities worth nine crore rupees and laying the foundation stone for transformative infrastructure developments valued at forty crore rupees. The inaugurated projects include a state-of-the-art modern sports ground, a specialized indoor badminton arena, and a well-equipped residential hostel facility for students, providing local youth with excellent community sports and academic infrastructure.
In addition to opening completed recreational assets, the Chief Minister initiated major developmental works executed collaboratively by the Greater Chennai Corporation and the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. These comprehensive projects encompass extensive underground drainage expansions, modern stormwater drain networks to prevent urban flooding during heavy monsoons, upgraded asphalt roadways, and enhanced piped drinking water distribution systems across densely populated residential neighborhoods.
Stalin interacted warmly with local residents and inspected ongoing municipal works, instructing engineers and civic contractors to ensure high construction quality and timely project completion. He emphasized that continuous grassroots modernization of constituency infrastructure serves as a practical model for sustainable, people-centric urban development throughout urban Tamil Nadu.
