Commemorating National Constitution Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called upon the nation to resolutely uphold the foundational values of equality, fraternity, secularism, and pluralism enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Paying homage to the chief architect Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the distinguished assembly of visionary founding leaders, Stalin stressed that the Constitution remains the supreme democratic compact protecting India's diverse linguistic, cultural, and regional identities from majoritarian encroachment.
Stalin pointed out that constitutional morality is not merely a legal doctrine but a living practice requiring continuous defense by democratic institutions. He cautioned that centralizing tendencies and ideological intolerance threaten the federal character designed by the framers. Under the Dravidian Model governance, Tamil Nadu persistently champions states' rights, equitable reservations, and judicial protections as essential instruments to realize Ambedkar's dream of an emancipated and egalitarian republic.
Concluding his message, Stalin urged citizens and political leaders across the country to take a collective pledge to safeguard constitutional guarantees. By defending institutional autonomy, free speech, and social justice, India can successfully overcome contemporary regressive challenges and march forward as an inclusive democracy true to its constitutional foundations.
