Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the new SIPCOT industrial park in Eraiyur, Perambalur district, and laid the foundation stone for an advanced non-leather footwear manufacturing cluster projected to generate over 50,000 jobs, predominantly for rural women. The landmark industrial expansion reflects the state government's deliberate strategy to decentralize manufacturing beyond conventional urban centers, sparking an equitable industrial revolution across previously underdeveloped districts.
Addressing investors, entrepreneurs, and industrial workers, Stalin explained that Tamil Nadu's proactive Footwear and Leather Products Policy is attracting premier global footwear brands and ancillary suppliers to the state. Establishing specialized industrial infrastructure in central Tamil Nadu provides rural women with steady formal employment, dignified wages, and socioeconomic independence within their native localities, preventing forced urban distress migration and ensuring long-term financial empowerment.
Stalin emphasized that balanced, distributed regional development forms the cornerstone of the Dravidian Model of economic governance. By combining robust infrastructure connectivity, skilled labor development, and responsive single-window investor clearances, Tamil Nadu continues to strengthen its stature as India's premier advanced manufacturing destination, delivering inclusive economic prosperity to every district across the state.
