Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin felicitated Dravidar Kazhagam President K. Veeramani on his ninetieth birthday celebration in Chennai, recalling former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's glowing praise for the veteran rationalist leader. During the celebratory event, Stalin received the prestigious Social Justice Award instituted in Veeramani's honor by Periyar International, USA, remarking that the recognition serves as a potent ideological motivation to pursue egalitarian goals and defend constitutional reservations.
Stalin applauded Veeramani's seven decades of steadfast ideological commitment to Thanthai Periyar's principles of rationalism, caste abolition, and gender emancipation. He noted that the DMK government and the Dravidar Kazhagam operate in mutual philosophical harmony as the twin barrels of the Dravidian movement, relentlessly championing the backward and oppressed classes against reactionary forces. Veeramani's relentless legal activism has historically protected Tamil Nadu's landmark 69 percent reservation framework.
Accepting the international honor on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, Stalin resolved to expand social justice policies across the nation. He emphasized that ideological resilience, scholarly advocacy, and mass mobilization remain indispensable weapons to defeat regressive politics and secure enduring equality for future generations.
