Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin virtually inaugurated the beautifully renovated memorial at the historic residence where national poet Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiyar lived in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, marking the poet's birth anniversary. Stalin described the dedication of the Varanasi memorial as the crowning achievement of the fourteen major state announcements made by the DMK government during Bharathiyar's death centenary celebrations to propagate his legacy worldwide.

The renovated house features a bronze bust of Bharathiyar, a research library, and an extensive visual gallery showcasing his revolutionary poetry, fiery journalistic writings, and anti-caste social reform philosophies. Bharathiyar had spent several formative youth years in Varanasi, where he deepened his Sanskrit knowledge, mastered multiple languages, and adopted his iconic turban style. Stalin remarked that Bharathiyar's poetry gave birth to modern Tamil literature, championing women's liberation, national freedom, and social equality.

The Chief Minister asserted that his administration is committed to spreading Bharathiyar's immortal message of universal brotherhood and fearless patriotism across the globe. He affirmed that the Dravidian Model governance will continually preserve the physical and intellectual heritage of Tamil cultural icons for future generations.
