Chief Minister M.K. Stalin warmly welcomed the historic passage of the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha, which officially included the marginalized Narikuravar and Kuruvikkaran communities in the Scheduled Tribes list of Tamil Nadu. Stalin characterized the parliamentary approval as a resounding triumph for the state government's relentless, principled advocacy and a momentous milestone in securing long-delayed constitutional justice for these nomadic communities.

Stalin had consistently petitioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union tribal affairs authorities, emphasizing that these vulnerable communities had been deprived of affirmative action, educational reservations, and tribal development welfare for decades due to bureaucratic delays. Soon after assuming office, Stalin personally visited Narikuravar settlements, dined in their homes, distributed welfare entitlements, and promised that his administration would relentlessly pursue their inclusion in the central Scheduled Tribes registry until victory was achieved.

Reaffirming his commitment to the holistic welfare of nomadic tribes, Stalin stated that official tribal status will open unprecedented doors in higher education, public employment, and socio-economic empowerment.
