Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally launched the 'Namma School Foundation' initiative in Chennai, creating an innovative institutional platform to mobilize alumni contributions, corporate social responsibility funds, and civil society donations for modernizing state government schools. Stalin characterized education as the ultimate weapon of social liberation, noting that public schools serve as an indispensable ladder of upward mobility for underprivileged children from rural and poor households.

The Chief Minister made an impassioned public appeal to successful business leaders, industrialists, global Tamil diaspora members, and former students to generously contribute to the foundation. Emphasizing the metaphor 'let us water the roots', Stalin affirmed that strengthening primary and secondary schooling infrastructure—such as smart classrooms, advanced science laboratories, clean sanitation facilities, and libraries—is crucial to preparing government school students for 21st-century technological and academic challenges.

Stalin personally contributed funds from his family to inaugurate the public endowment drive. He reiterated that while the state government allocates record budgetary funding for school education, community participation fosters civic ownership and shared social responsibility, ensuring every child in Tamil Nadu receives high-quality, dignified public schooling.
