Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin participated in the grand Christmas celebration in Chennai, sharing festive greetings with leaders of Christian denominations, clergymen, and citizens from across the state. In his keynote address, Stalin emphasized that Christmas delivers a universal message of selfless love, compassion, forgiveness, and service to humanity—principles that closely mirror the compassionate and egalitarian ethos of the Dravidian Model of governance.
Stalin praised the historical contributions of Christian missionary institutions in pioneering modern school education, higher learning, and accessible healthcare across Tamil Nadu. He highlighted how these institutions broke traditional caste monopolies over education and opened school doors to underprivileged communities centuries ago. He reaffirmed that the DMK government considers safeguarding the rights, dignity, and autonomy of minority communities an absolute constitutional duty, assuring that no harm will ever befall them.
The Chief Minister asserted that Tamil Nadu remains a peaceful oasis of communal harmony amidst rising hatred and sectarian polarization in other parts of the country. Stalin reiterated his administration's steadfast commitment to defending constitutional secularism and ensuring that people of all faiths celebrate their festivals with joy, mutual respect, and complete security.
