Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid reverent floral tributes to social revolutionary Thanthai Periyar E.V. Ramasamy on his 49th memorial day, declaring that Periyar's philosophy of rationalism, self-respect, and equality remains completely time-proof. Stalin remarked that while Periyar was an unrelenting terror to orthodox oppressors during his lifetime, his radical ideas continue to wield unmatched revolutionary vitality nearly half a century after his passing.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Periyar transcends flesh and mortality; he represents an indestructible idea that continuously dismantles caste supremacy, gender bondage, and reactionary religious hegemony. Stalin pointed out that the policies enacted under the Dravidian Model of governance—ranging from universal temple priesthood and women's property rights to expansive social reservations—are the direct realization of Periyar's lifelong vision for an egalitarian, rationalist society.
Stalin asserted that as long as social disparities, hierarchical bigotry, and obscurantism persist, Periyar's ideological weapon will remain indispensable. He called upon the youth of Tamil Nadu and the nation to embrace Periyar's uncompromising scientific temper and relentless questioning of orthodoxy, pledging that the state administration will steadfastly uphold the banner of social justice against all regressive onslaughts.
