Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued an impassioned call for national unity, urging democratic forces across India to unite in building the progressive, secular society envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Stalin stated that safeguarding India's foundational values of pluralism, federalism, and scientific temper is the foremost historical obligation facing contemporary political leaders, citizens, and youth.
The Chief Minister observed that the visionary architects of independent India rejected religious theocracy in favor of a democratic republic where diverse languages, faiths, and cultures coexist with mutual respect. Today, however, regressive forces threaten these constitutional guarantees by promoting majoritarian dominance, weakening federal state autonomy, and fostering communal suspicion. In this crucial context, democratic alliances and mass solidarity movements are vital to rekindle civic harmony and shared brotherhood.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's Dravidian Model of development provides an inspiring blueprint of progressive governance, blending rapid industrialization with robust social justice and welfare. He called upon secular parties nationwide to transcend minor differences and present a united front, ensuring India remains an inclusive democratic republic where equal opportunity, human dignity, and constitutional rights flourish for all citizens.
