During the centenary celebrations of industrialist and philanthropist Dr. N. Mahalingam in Pollachi, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that the newly laid scheme road connecting Coimbatore Road and Palladam Road in Pollachi municipality will be named Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam Road. Stalin emphasized that naming the vital urban arterial link after Mahalingam is a fitting tribute to a visionary leader who contributed immeasurably to the industrialization and civic development of the region.

The Chief Minister noted that the bypass scheme road was constructed to alleviate chronic traffic congestion in Pollachi town, providing smooth connectivity for commercial transport, agricultural produce carriers, and daily commuters traveling across Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts. By associating the infrastructure project with Mahalingam's name, the state government honors his seminal contributions to regional urban planning and road transit infrastructure across the western corridor.
