Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin distributed state-level prizes and certificates to talented student winners at the valedictory ceremony of 'Kalai Thiruvizha', the flagship statewide arts festival organized by the Department of School Education in Chennai. Broadcast live to educators and students, the festival mobilized over twenty-eight lakh government school students across thirty-eight districts, providing an unprecedented competitive stage for music, drama, folk dance, visual arts, and classical performance.
Addressing the jubilant gathering of student finalists and teachers, Stalin expressed boundless joy at seeing children from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds display extraordinary artistic talent. He emphasized that education must not remain confined to textbook rote learning, but must holistically foster creative expression, critical thinking, and artistic confidence among young minds. The festival represents the largest government school cultural competition in the history of Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister announced that the top prize winners will be sent on fully state-sponsored educational and cultural exposure trips to international destinations. Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model governance is dedicated to revitalizing government schools, upgrading physical infrastructure, and ensuring that government school students receive equal opportunities to compete and excel on national and global stages.
