Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm congratulations to organizers, authors, and participants for successfully conducting the inaugural edition of the Chennai Literary Festival at the Anna Centenary Library in Kotturpuram. The multi-day intellectual festival brought together more than one hundred prominent writers, poets, critics, and scholars from across India, creating a vibrant platform for literary discussions, panel debates, and book launches.
Stalin expressed immense emotional satisfaction at seeing the Anna Centenary Library bustling with intellectual vitality and massive public participation. Conceived and constructed under former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to honor Dravidian leader C.N. Annadurai, the landmark institution suffered administrative neglect under prior regimes. Stalin noted that his government systematically renovated the library, upgraded digital infrastructure, and expanded book access, earning widespread acclaim from scholars, students, and research communities worldwide. Writers, researchers, and book readers from across the country commended the vibrant literary atmosphere.
The Chief Minister affirmed that transforming Tamil Nadu into an intellectual powerhouse requires sustained institutional support for reading and literary criticism. He pledged that the state government will continue organizing annual literary festivals, expanding public libraries, and nurturing creative writers across all regions of the state.
