At the annual Thiruvalluvar Day state awards ceremony held at Valluvar Kottam, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented prestigious awards named after historic national and regional leaders to prominent public figures and litterateurs. Stalin conferred the Perarignar Anna Award upon veteran politician and former minister S.N.M. Ubayadullah, recognizing his steadfast loyalty and multi-decade service to the Dravidian movement and the people of Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister presented the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Award to senior political leader E.V.K.S. Elangovan for his extensive contribution to public life and democratic politics. Stalin honored distinguished cultural historian Dr. A.R. Venkatachalapathy with the Mahakavi Bharatiyar Award in recognition of his rigorous academic treatises on modern Tamil social and publishing history. He also conferred the Paventhar Bharathidasan Award upon Walajaa Vallavan for his dedicated propagation of revolutionary Dravidian poetry and literature.
Stalin observed that these annual awards celebrate the multifaceted legacy of Tamil Nadu's political pioneers and literary giants. He emphasized that honoring veterans across public service and historical scholarship inspires the younger generation to uphold the ideals of social justice, secular democracy, and linguistic pride throughout their lives across the state.
