Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a strong rejoinder against conservative religious elements attempting to introduce regressive orthodoxy into the state's socio-political discourse. Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's modern civil society has flourished through generations of rationalist advocacy, anti-caste mobilization, and progressive literary expression spearheaded by Thanthai Periyar and the Dravidian movement.
The Chief Minister asserted that a society firmly anchored in self-respect, scientific temper, and egalitarian ideals will never permit regressive Sanatana doctrines to undermine its hard-won social equality. He warned that sectarian campaigns designed to divide citizens along caste hierarchies and religious lines are fundamentally incompatible with Tamil Nadu's progressive traditions. The state has consistently rejected conservative dogma in favor of inclusive development, equal opportunities, and constitutional secularism.
Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian Model administration remains unyielding in its defense of social justice, women's liberation, and backward classes' empowerment. He called upon progressive forces, students, and citizens to remain intellectually vigilant against divisive rhetoric, declaring that Tamil society will forever protect its progressive identity from religious obscurantism and divisive social hierarchies in every sphere of public life.
