Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited the Language Martyrs Memorial at Guindy in Chennai, offering floral tributes before the portraits of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the historic anti-Hindi agitations. Stalin commemorated the courage of language defenders who chose death over linguistic subjugation, recalling how their supreme sacrifices inspired generations of Tamils to protect their mother tongue and self-respect against centralizing imposition.
Addressing the occasion, Stalin declared that while the martyrs gave their lives to alter the course of history, modern Tamil Nadu will establish its linguistic and constitutional rights through sustained democratic struggle without losing another precious life. He emphasized that the state government is deploying political and legal mechanisms to defend state autonomy, preserve the two-language policy, and assert Tamil's rightful place on the national stage.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model administration honors martyrs not through mere rhetoric, but through governance that advances Tamil language education, technological integration, and public literature. He urged citizens to unite with renewed resolve to resist ongoing attempts at cultural homogenization, ensuring that the legacy of language martyrs endures forever across the state.
