In a message commemorating India's 74th Republic Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called upon citizens nationwide to safeguard the core constitutional ideals that have earned global respect for India as the world's largest democracy. Stalin emphasized that cultural diversity and social inclusiveness represent India's greatest enduring strengths, urging the public to protect these foundational principles against reactionary tendencies that seek to enforce ideological uniformity.
The Chief Minister noted that the republican Constitution drafted under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was established to guarantee justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for every citizen regardless of caste, creed, gender, or mother tongue. He observed that India's democratic vitality is sustained not through forced assimilation, but through the harmonious celebration of its pluralistic regional identities, distinct languages, and diverse cultural traditions. Stalin cautioned that communal intolerance and caste hatred threaten the country's social fabric.
Stalin urged all democratic forces to resolve firmly to eradicate the social evils and divisive politics that undermine national cohesion. He reaffirmed that the Government of Tamil Nadu remains unswervingly committed to upholding constitutional morality, federal autonomy, and egalitarian social justice for all citizens.
