Delivering the live presidential address at the inauguration of the Ear, Nose, Throat, Head, and Neck Medical Science Conference in Chennai, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged healthcare professionals and academic institutions to expand medical education and research in the Tamil language. Speaking before prominent surgeons, medical faculty, and postgraduate students, Stalin stated that conducting specialized medical symposiums in Tamil marks an empowering breakthrough in regional scientific communication.
The Chief Minister highlighted that patient outcomes improve significantly when clinical practitioners explain medical conditions, surgical procedures, and post-operative care in the patient's native language. When healthcare terminology remains confined to foreign tongues, vulnerable citizens often experience anxiety and alienation inside clinical settings. Stalin commended the participating doctors for developing comprehensive Tamil vocabularies for otorhinolaryngology, noting that linguistic accessibility makes advanced healthcare truly democratic and responsive to community needs.
Stalin reiterated that Tamil Nadu's robust public healthcare infrastructure has achieved national acclaim through continuous innovation, specialized tertiary centers, and welfare schemes like Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam. He assured the medical fraternity of continued government assistance to promote vernacular medical literature and research, bridging the gap between world-class medical science and grassroots citizen welfare.
