In an opening post highlighting Tamil Nadu's industrial evolution, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recalled the visionary leadership of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, whose proactive industrial policy successfully secured a historic 13,000 crore rupee investment from the Renault-Nissan alliance. Stalin noted that this landmark agreement paved the way for the automaker's massive manufacturing complex at Oragadam near Chennai, which began commercial operations in 2010 under the previous DMK administration.
The Chief Minister observed that Karunanidhi's strategic decision to develop the Oragadam-Sriperumbudur corridor transformed rural scrubland into one of the world's most concentrated automotive and electronic manufacturing hubs. By providing dedicated land parcels, reliable water infrastructure, road connectivity, and customized fiscal incentives, the state government established Chennai as an indispensable link in global automotive supply chains, attracting multinational component suppliers and generating thousands of industrial jobs.
Stalin emphasized that the present Dravidian Model government draws continuous inspiration from Karunanidhi's transformative industrial vision. The administration remains committed to deepening Tamil Nadu's industrial base, transitioning toward electric vehicle technologies, and maintaining the state's commanding leadership in national manufacturing, ensuring sustained economic prosperity and technical employment for future generations.
