The securities of JNU & Delhi Police have time and again turned mute spectators to the violence unleashed on students who fight for their rights & are critical of the Union BJP regime.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin sharply criticized the concerning inaction demonstrated by the Delhi Police and Jawaharlal Nehru University security personnel, pointing out that law enforcement forces have repeatedly turned into mute spectators while violent mobs unleash physical assaults on defenseless scholars. Stalin noted that students exercising their democratic right to peaceful assembly and raising critical questions regarding the policies of the Union BJP government are systematically targeted with complete institutional impunity.
The Chief Minister emphasized that law enforcement agencies derive their constitutional authority from the sovereign public and are sworn to maintain neutral, non-partisan order rather than serving as passive bystanders during partisan violence. Allowing organized vigilante groups to trespass into university hostels and beat student activists severely undermines the rule of law and damages the international reputation of India's higher education system. Stalin warned that institutional complicity in suppressing campus dissent threatens the foundations of democratic governance.
Stalin demanded independent accountability investigations into the administrative failures of the police and campus security officers during the incident. He reiterated that protecting fundamental rights, personal liberty, and the right to peaceful protest remains the ultimate test of a constitutional democracy.
