Responding to warm birthday felicitations conveyed by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin emphasized the vital historical necessity of joint political resistance against sectarian forces. Addressing Vijayan in Malayalam with fraternal camaraderie as comrade, Stalin declared that progressive democratic parties across southern India must work in close collaboration to permanently keep divisive, authoritarian forces away from the Deccan peninsula.
The Chief Minister underscored that Tamil Nadu and Kerala share deep-rooted traditions of social reform, rationalist public discourse, and working-class empowerment. Both states have systematically resisted the imposition of cultural uniformity, defending regional linguistic pride, federal fiscal entitlements, and secular constitutional values against aggressive central encroachment. Stalin observed that sustaining this progressive regional buffer is crucial for preserving the federal architecture of the entire Indian republic.
Stalin affirmed that the bond between progressive movements in Tamil Nadu and Kerala extends beyond routine interstate diplomacy, representing a shared ideological bulwark against sectarian reaction. He reiterated his commitment to deepening inter-party solidarity, ensuring that democratic, egalitarian governance continues to guide southern state administrations while inspiring wider national democratic consolidation.
